As we all know 2nd October holds well special importance for Indians, It is the birthday's of two very important personalities of India, who changed the course of modern India history and politics.  

I think by now you guessed the name of this personalities.

1.) MAHATMA GANDHI 

2.)LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI 

Everybody knows about the father of Nation, the Great Mahatma, the freedom fighter, the man who won us freedom through non-violent methods, Through it took him many years to get India independent from British government, he remained persistent and unyielding. His method of Satyagraha(truth) and Ahimsa(non-violence) have become to famous all over the world. And he protest against one of the mightiest powers of the time without shedding a drop of blood.

Hence, in the honor of our greatest political leader of the time, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, 2nd of October is declared as a national holiday throughout India. Gandhi Jayanti celebrated by offering prayer and tribute to Gandhiji in all over the world but especially in Rajghat, where he remained lay.

The personality who share his birthday with the Mahatma, Is Lal Bahadur Shastri, was born on 2nd October 1904 and he was an Indian politician who served as the second prime minister of India. He promoted The White Revolution–"a national campaign to increase the production and supply of milk by supporting the Amul Milk Co-operative of Anand, Gujarat & creating the National Dairy development board.

Many of the people not remember his birthday but he was one of the most dynamic leader of his time he was the great leader and the follower of Mahatma Gandhi.

Lal Bahadur Shastri was the person who revolutionzed the agricultural sector of India.  The White Revolution ine India, took under in his leadership. He worked hard to eliminate the social problem like food shortage, unemployment, and poverty in India.The greatest achievement in his Political career, were the victory against Pakistan in the 1965 Indo‐Pak war.

At that time Lal Bahadur Shastri gave the slogan of "Jai Jawan,Jai Kisan" to tribute our soldier's and farmer's. 

So,we celebrate the birthday's of two most important personalities of India on 2nd October every year, one of them was the most prominent person in history while other gave our country a move into modern world.
