Ooty, also known as Ootacamund, it is a town and a municipality in the Nilgiris district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located 86 kilometre north of the coimbatore and 120 south of Mysore and it is the headquarter of the Nilgiri district.It is a popular hill station located in the Nilgiri Hills.Local Residents  call it queen of Hills. 

The Nilgiri mountain from part of the Western Ghat in western Tamil Nadu, India. At least 24 of the Nilgiri mountain's peak are above 2000 meter (6,600),the highest peak being Doddabeta at 2637 meter's (8,652)ft.

NILGIRI DISTRICT RAILWAY 

The Nilgiri mountain Railway has the steepest  track all over the Asia, and it is one of the best train rides you will ever have the chance of experiencing. Remember the hit song "chaiyya chaiya" where Shahrukh Khan and Malaika Arora were seen matching steps on the top of the train. the seats of the train are very comfortable and charming, on the both side of the window, you can the blue mountains of Nilgiri Hills ,and the coming fresh air from the window feels  the relaxation to  our mind .
